Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL are among the best smartphones out there. This year, Google adds a lot of new things to its flagship phones, helping them stand in line with other top-tier phones out there. While many of us still don’t have a chance to lay our hands on Google’s latest flagship smartphones, rumors about the Pixel 3 have started to make their way into the internet.
According to the latest rumors, Google may be working on three new Pixel phones for 2018, just like Apple this year. Sources say that Google has been testing a prototype codenamed “crosshatch” and two other phones, known as “albacore”, and “blueline”.
Tech experts say that Google is planning to launch a premium Pixel phone next year that will carry a staggering price tag, just like the iPhone X. There might be two standard Pixel devices featuring modest improvements over the current Pixel phones.
Back in October, Google announced the second generation of the company’s Pixel smartphones, the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL. The Pixel 2 looks almost identical to the 2016 device, while the Pixel 2 XL comes with some design changes. The Pixel 2 XL features a 6-inch display, up from a 5.5 inch display found on the first generation.
The Pixel 2 XL comes with slim bezels at the top and bottom of the screen. Under the hood, the device is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835, coupled with 4GB of RAM. The smaller Pixel 2 sports a 5-inch AMOLED display and is also fueled by the Snapdragon 835. Both smartphones include the ability to record 4K videos at 30 FPS and 1080p at 120 FPS, and features quick charge, a fingerprint scanner and IP 67 for water and dust resistance.
The third-generation Google Pixel is expected to run Android 9.0 at launch next year. Besides, tech experts say that the device might feature a much-improved Google Assistant and better VR support.
