iOS 11 has been in the hands of the community for a while and ranks among the best-optimized mobile operating systems. Apple’s new version of iOS doesn’t come with a significant change like its predecessor, but there are a lot of small and handy things that add up to a much better user experience. One such thing is the Dock, a macOS-style dock that sits at the bottom of the screen.
The Dock is specifically designed for iPad and really shines on it. The Dock is basically an app launcher, allowing you to quickly launch your favorite apps on your iPad. The Dock can be summoned when you are inside an app, by swiping up from the bottom of the screen.
iOS 11 Dock includes a section that houses your most recently-launched apps. This comes in handy, as you can launch the app instantly. However, many iPad owners find it annoying. If you happen to sit in the group, you can hide them.
In this guide, we will walk you through the steps to hide Suggested and Recent apps in iOS 11 Dock on your iPad. Before we begin, make sure you are now running iOS 11.
How to hide Suggested and Recent apps in iOS 11 Dock on your iPad
Step one: First off, launch the Settings app on your iPad and then hit General to proceed
Step two: Once you are in, tap “Multitasking & Dock” and then turn on the switch for “Show Suggested and Recent Apps” at the bottom to disable the feature.
Once you are done, head back to your home screen and then you should notice that there are now fewer app icons than before.
If you change your mind, you can easily get back the Suggested and Recent apps section. To do this, repeat the above process and turn on the switch for Show Suggested and Recent Apps.
