Samsung Galaxy Note 9 to come with in-display fingerprint scanner

The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 ranks among the best smartphones out there, marking an impressive comeback following the Note 7 fiasco last year. With the Note 8, the South Korean firm maintains the beloved features of the Note 7, while adding a lot of new exciting things like Infinity Display, bigger RAM, and dual-camera system.

The Note 8 has been available for a while, but we have started to hear a lot of rumors regarding the next generation of the Galaxy Note. According to the latest sources, the Galaxy Note 9 may feature in-display fingerprint scanner. The Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus were previously rumored to include the fingerprint scanner built directly into the display.

Samsung’s main rival, Apple gave up the plan to produce the fingerprint reader that works under the display. However, sources say that Apple may add this new advanced security technology to 2019 iPhones.

Some reports claim that Samsung has been granted a patent for an in-display fingerprint scanner. However, it seems that the feature will be exclusive to the Note 9, which is believed to make its debut in 2018. This means that the upcoming Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus might stick with traditional security measures.

According to tech experts, an in-display fingerprint scanner might serve as a selling point of the Note 9 in 2018. Samsung might be the first brand to use in-display fingerprint scanner on its smartphones.

Rumors regarding the Note 9 have been around for months, claiming that the Galaxy Note 9 will sport a 6.22″ screen. Under the hood, the device might be powered by Qualcomm’s latest processor, coupled with 6GB of RAM. Sources have recently claimed that the Note 9 will include a much better Bixby. Samsung has been working on improving its virtual helper for months since the launch day, allowing users to do a lot more things on their smartphone.
